CANNA CALMAG AGENT
In response to popular demand, CANNA has produced CALMAG AGENT. You can use this product to increase calcium and magnesium levels in soft water, thereby raising its EC value. It will improve water quality to ensure your plants can thrive and flourish.

What constitutes good-quality water?
- We categorise water into four distinct types:
1.) Soft water, 2) Regular water, 3) Hard water, and 4) Poor-quality water
What is the difference between soft/hard and/or poor-quality water? What can you do about it?
Soft water has an EC value below 0.4. Using CANNA CALMAG solvent can raise the EC value to 0.4.
Normal water has an EC value between 0.4 and 0.7. It is rich in calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonate to stabilize the pH. All CANNA products work best with this type of water.
Hard water (EC > 0.8) contains higher levels of calcium and magnesium than normal plants need. When growing plants, the best way to treat this type of water is to use a water filter and mix it with R.O. water until the EC value reaches 0.4. Alternatively, for convenience, you can use 100% R.O. water and then use CANNA CALMAG solvent to raise the EC value to 0.4.
Poor-quality water (EC > 0.8) primarily contains sodium and chloride. These two elements hinder nutrient uptake and can even be toxic to plants. Using a water filter can remove these two elements. However, mixing R.O. water with low-quality water does not provide sufficient calcium and magnesium; only bicarbonate is needed to stabilize the pH. Mix R.O. water with low-quality water until the EC value reaches 0.2, then add CANNA CALMAG solvent to this water until the EC value reaches 0.4, or use 100% R.O. water combined with CANNA CALMAG solvent until the EC value reaches 0.4.
How to use?
CANNA CALMAG Solvent is a special nutrient solution designed for buffered soft water. It can be used on all media.
Instructions for use with soft water
- Shake well before use.
- Fill the fertiliser tank with water (20-22°C)
- Add 0.1-0.5 ml of CANNA CALMAG Solvent per litre of water until the EC value reaches 0.45 mS/cm. Thereafter, you may proceed with standard application of base nutrients and supplementary nutrients.
Storage Information:
- Keep the bottle sealed and airtight.
- Store only in the original container.
- Protect from heat, frost, and direct sunlight.
- Recommended storage temperature: 10-30°C.
CANNA uses only high-grade nutrients and chelates for direct plant application.
